With a career in the fire service dating back to 2013, Ryan is a career firefighter specializing in technical rescue and emergency response. His experience combines extensive operational rescue knowledge with a strong background in the oil and gas industry, project management, safety program development, and technical training.

He holds NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I and II, NFPA 1041 Instructor Level I and II, EMR, and NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Level I and II qualifications. His technical rescue experience includes high-angle and rope rescue, embankment rescue, confined space rescue, heavy rescue, trench rescue, and building collapse operations. He also has experience delivering and supporting technical rescue training, with a focus on developing competent, confident teams capable of operating safely and effectively in complex environments.

Before beginning his career in the fire service, Ryan spent many years working in the oil and gas industry and holds a diploma in Materials Engineering Technology. This industrial background provided valuable experience in project management, problem-solving, technical processes, and working within demanding operational environments.

He also has experience developing and auditing ACSA COR and CCOR programs, providing a strong understanding of safety systems, regulatory requirements, hazard management, and continuous improvement.
